Free SUMMER CAMPs For Students
  • Center for Energy education

    The Center for Energy Education (C4EE) is offering two free summer camps for local middle school students at Halifax Community College. Each camp will be four days from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Lunch will be provided each day. Students will make fun projects powered by solar, wind and water. Students will use their creative skills, supporting STEM education, while increasing their awareness of energy from natural sources. The program will be taught by local middle school science teachers with STEM training. The camps are FREE

WMS receives Golden Leaf Award

Weldon Middle School is the recipient of a $175,000 Golden Leaf Award to help with increasing technology in the classroom. Beginning 2016-2017 school year, every student will be privileged to have their own device to help us become a 1:1 Personalized Education School.

WMS Receives Chromebooks through 1:1 Golden Leaf Initiative
Assistant Principal

Mr. Frank Hunter is the assistant principal in Jr. Charger Land. He is certified in Middle Grades Social Studies. Mr. Hunter has worked for almost 27 years in education as a Teacher, Coach, Middle Grades Administrator, and High School Administrator. Mr. Hunter has 3 sons, Torey, Jarell, and Chris.
