PUBLIC NOTICE OF BOARD MEETING* * * * * * * * * * *The Weldon City Schools Board of Education will have a special called meeting on May 9th, 2023 to hold a session on the school system's budget and sales taxes. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm, and it will be held at the Central Services Boardroom located at 301 Mulberry Street, Weldon, NC 27890. Please take notice that the Superintendent of the Weldon City Schools is convening a new 6-12 middle and high school construction project steering committee meeting on May 3, 2023, from 10am-12pm.While this is not scheduled as a meeting of the Weldon City Schools Board of Education, this notice is sent to notify the public that a quorum of the members of the Weldon City Schools Board of Education may attend the meeting and participate in the discussions regarding the construction of the new 6-12 school. The meeting will take place in the media center at Weldon High School, located at 415 County Road, Weldon, NC 27890.

Special Olympics Update: Due to a high number of confirmed COVID cases, Northampton High School has taken the precautionary safety measure of releasing all students and staff from campus by 12pm today. In turn, the Special Olympics games scheduled for the day have been cancelled as well. Although we were looking forward to a day of festivity, we value our students' safety and health above anything else. Please stay safe and enjoy the remainder of the day.

This event is taking place in partnership with Halifax County Schools, Weldon City Schools, and Communities in Schools of North Carolina.

Come out and cheer on athletes from across the Roanoke Valley as they participate in track and field events, and compete for a gold, silver, or bronze medal! Food Vendors (local and out-of-town) will be on-site!

The Weldon City Schools Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled business meeting on Thursday, April 20, 2023. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the items listed on the agenda. Additionally, the Board will be approving the Weldon City Schools Internet Safety Policy in compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). The Board will convene in closed session at 5:30pm and reconvene at approximately 6:30pm for open session. The meeting will take place at the Weldon STEM High School Career Academies, 415 County Road, Weldon, NC 27890.
